NDA Entrance Examination (II) 2009 will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 30th August 2009 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 124th Course and Naval Academy for 44th 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course commencing from 30th June, 2010.
The approximate number of vacancies to be filled on the esults of this examination will be 339 (195 for the Army, 39 for Navy, 66 for the Air Force and 39 for the Executive Branch of Naval Academy).

When you apply for the NDA you need to mention your choice between the National Academy and Naval Academy in the Executive branch. This choice is not assured as it largely depends on the score and merit list that you secure. Within the NDA you have an option between the Army, Navy and the Air Force to choose from.
All the recruitment that happens in the Army, Navy and the Air Force will happen through the National Defense Academy Entrance exam. The exams are conducted twice a year in the months of April and September. The UPSC conducts these exams.
Eligibility for NDA Entrance Exam:
The person must be an Indian national.
An unmarried male, who is willing to undergo three years of training course, After the training you will be awarded a degree in Art, Science or Computer Science and also a master’s degree if you wish to study further.
The person must be 16 ½ years and more than 19 years at the time of the exam.
For the Army Wind of the National Defense Acamdemy one must be an intermediate that is 12th pass and for the Air Force and Naval Wings of the National Defense Academy one must be 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
The candidates must also meet certain physical fitness parameters such as height, weight and chest expansion. There must not have any ailments or defects.
How to Apply:
The UPSC announces the exam and application dates on all the newspapers. One can get the application forms from the post offices on a payment of Rs 20 and apply for the test.
Selection Process:
The eligible candidates who meet all the eligibility criteria are asked to come for a thorough medical and physical fitness test. This is a very stringent selection procedure and only those who clear it will be admitted in the NDA.
pattern for Exam Syllabus:
The syllabus for this test is sent in the brochure along with the application form that you receive. The papers are based on the basic high school level knowledge of English, Basic Mathematics and Current Events.
There is also an intelligence test that judges both the aspects of verbal and nonverbal skills.
