The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) it is organized by NCERT. National Talent Search Examination is a national level scholarship program in India to identify and nurture talented students.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) was established by the Government of India in the year 1961 with a view to bringing about qualitative improvement in school education in the country. No sooner the Council was set up than it mounted a number of programme's in this direction. One such programe was to identify and nurture the talented students.

Eligibility: Students of Class VIII studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the respective Class VIII Stage I examination conducted by the States/UTs in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.

Important Dates:
Last Dates for Submission of Application Form & conduct of examination are

1)Stage I (State)
Last Date for Submission of Application Form : August 31st 2011
Examination in States and Union Territories November : 20th 2011
2)Stage II(National)
Examination in All States and Union Territories May 13th 2012.
